Just did a 4 segment trip this past weekend (in Y) and noticed that on at least 3 of the flights, the F curtain was closed. First time I have seen this since 9-11.

New policy? I think eliminating the curtain is good for security, even though it does encourage intruders into the F cabin.

I noticed the same--four out of four segments. I think folks here are making way too big a deal out of the non-refundable issue, and the fact that none of us will ever, ever, qualify for Preferred status again. The real news is that we are now justly segregated from the dirty seething masses.

I will be one of those dirty seething masses in a few years. Life on the other side is better.

This cockroach, sitting in FC, saw the curtains were closed on my return from STL.

I, however, will be traveling with the masses next year on AA except for burning off miles. Just booked a leisure trip on AA. US was a few dollars cheaper.

US Airways issued a bulletin to flight attendants last week stating that due to customer feedback (GASP...someone is actually listening)First Class curtains on domestic flights may now be closed consistent with past FAA policy.

Please note: you may not see this on all flights.

The ultimate decision regarding closure of the curtain will rest with the Captain.

Best,

Sky

Over the past weekend I made 2 short trips from ALB -> PHL (~50 mins flying time).

Unfortunately, I suffered in Y b/c I didn't want to use so many miles to u/g for such a short trip.

Regarding the curtain posting, I noticed that on my flight from ALB -> PHL the curtain remained open (Aug 31) but on my return flight PHL -> ALB the curtain was closed (Sept 2).

Yesterday, I did ALB-PHL-SAN-PIT-ALB. The curtains were closed on the SAN segments and open on ALB segment.

I still think a velvet rope attached by Velcro is better than a curtain.

I like the idea of a bamboo bead curtain. Also, substitute a sitar for the Peruvian pan flute during the video safety briefing theme song.
