US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - A Moment of Reflection

As a former Piedmont Airlines sales guy (15 years ago!), I have to say that it truly pains me to watch the old, successful stations disappear off the US map these days. I certainly understand the economics behind SOME of the decisions, but to see ROA and CVG lose all mainline service months back was a shock. In a matter of weeks, AVL and Montreal are gone and, now.....DAY is going to an all express station.

(Anybody remember when DAY had 100+ PI departures to all points, incl W coast?!?!?)

Just sad to see the sweeping changes cut so deep. Lots of good memories and people in all those places.

Surprisingly, PWM seemed to survive the new schedule cuts with human-sized jet service intact. No RJs!

If B-Ben's email to Beckles proves a harbinger of reversals, the combination may keep me flying U.
