I am looking for quiet, safe, yet easy to access metro neighborhoods to rent an vacation apartment for family trip to BCN in June.

Am I correct that L'eixample (Passeig de Gracia) area would fit the bill.

Thanks!

J.

Although I haven't actually stayed there yet, I have booked this place for next fall for a trip with my mom because it has a kitchen, washer/dryer in the unit, is in a quieter part of town and a block and a half from the metro station. Trip advisor has really good reviews.

You can get rooms with two bathroom which is a big plus in my book!

OP here, thanks, will check that out. We have 2 adults and 3 20 somethings... We might need a 3 bedroom :(...

I have found quite a few agencies, and I think I know the neighborhoods, but just needed to confirm this...

It's definitely not quiet, because of the traffic. But it's a good choice if you want to be very central but don't want to stay in the old town.

I don't think any areas in Barcelona can be called quiet anyway... :D Maybe some neighbourhoods in Sarría–Sant Gervasi, but I don’t think they rent out a lot of tourist apartments there.

True; when I first visited Barcelona I stayed in a hotel near the Gothic quarter and loved it's central location. I forget it's name but it was on a rather quiet street. Then on subsequent visits (3) I stayed with a friend who was living in a great old meandering apartment in Sarría within a walled estate. Very low turnover there, no hotels that I was aware of, but you'd have to taxi back if you missed the last train at midnight.
