Starwood Preferred Guest - Only suites available for point redemption at W Istanbul?

I'm looking to make a 5 night reservation at the W Istanbul in April before the high season rate kicks in. No standard rooms are available for 12K points. I do see Spectacular and Fabulous rooms available for paid rates though, so I wouldn't mind redeeming 1-2K points extra per night. I called up the SPG line, and was told that the hotel will only allow me to use points for a junior suite - at 24K points/night!
Does that sound right? A junior suite is just way too many points for me. I asked the SPG concierge to call the hotel directly to see if they'd allow me to book a Spectacular room, but they said that I'd have to wait a few days to hear back from the W's reservation department.
Any other suggestions or advice? Thanks!
I have a 12K Wonderful room booked for late March - still looks to be available. Maybe just a low inventory week you're looking?

It appears that the 12K rates are only loaded to the end of March. Nothing's available after April 1st.

It appears that no Wonderful rooms are loaded even for cash during April 1 - June 30 and Sept 1 - Oct 30. This seems all too coincidental and unfair. Their Peak award dates are April 16 - June 30 and Sept 1 - Oct 15. Call SPG to investigate. Or contact the Starwood Lurkers.
Related note:
Apr 16 - Jun 30 = 76 nights
Sep 1 - Oct 15 = 45 nights
Total = 121 nights = 17.28 weeks
Isn't the maximum supposed to be 16 weeks? (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/15395083-post10.html)

They probably round down, so 76 nights = 10 weeks and 45 nights = 6 weeks. Or else they generically say that every half month is two weeks.

As a followup, I contacted the W directly, and was told that there was "an IT glitch" that should be fixed by tomorrow. About 30 minutes later, I received an email confirmation from the W for my stay (a Spectacular room). Points weren't pulled out of my account, so I called up the SPG line. It turned out the hotel had booked the reservation for me, so SPG had to pull the points and call the hotel directly to provide an award number.
It was a bit complicated, but everything looks to be in order now. Glad to have gotten the reservation before the peak season awards kick in. Kudos to the hotel and the SPG Platinum line!
