Los Angeles - Hotel Recommendations in: Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Hollywood

What hotel(s) would you recommend in the Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Hollywood and why?

What are you trying to accomplish in LA?

Welcome to FT, Betari! I grew up in the Valley and still visit my family in that general area. There are no luxury hotels in that area, at least in the Valley. There are a few larger chain hotels at Universal City, and what has become a Courtyard by Marriott at Sepulveda and Ventura.

If you want further recommendations, you'll have to tell us your budget range.

I live here so I do not stay in hotels. That said, there are the standard business hotels in Studio City and Sherman Oaks. If you want to go outside of the box, stay at the Angeleno in Brentwood which is on the better side of the hills (my bias) and can have reasonable rates. In Hollywood, stay at the W. There are obviously others and I do not know your budget, but the above is my two cents.

This is phrased like a school assignment :-) You don't give info on your budget, what type of hotel you are looking for, what you want to be near, whether you'll rely on public transportation or have a car (e.g., some hotels charge for parking; probably especially common in Hollywood and near Universal Studios) and why you are interested in these specific 3 areas, which cover a wide area (you don't mention adjacent areas like Universal City, Burbank, Van Nuys, etc.). Try looking at Tripadvisor.com for reviews by travelers. I liked the Sportsmen's Lodge, but partly due to fond memories of eating there with my parents many eons ago. I grew up in Van Nuys, and recently stayed at the Hilton at Universal City, but that was for a conference. If you give more info you should get some good suggestions, if you don't find enough on sites like Tripadvisor.

The OP's ask of Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Hollywood covers a wide area of the valley and LA so it's hard to determine what he/she is needing. I'd suggest an often overlooked hotel in Burbank, which is close drive to either Studio City/Sherman Oaks or Hollywood.

The hotel is walking distance to Warner Bros, Disney Channel and many major production companies. The bar is not open to the public, only hotel guests. Across the street is a grocery store, starbucks, etc. Great location for work and visiting many parts of LA area.
