Hi Folks,

Quick question for all of you. Back in early July I cashed in 80K miles to upgrade to Envoy Class from Philly to London Gatwick. I received in the mail my E-Ticket Receipt/Itinerary that shows we are both seated in Envoy Class with actual seat assignments.

The question I have may seem strange but I'm new to all this... Is my upgrade a done deal based on this? I hate E-tickets and always worry of a gotcha. No one mentioned anything about needing to present upgrade certificates at the time of departure, and the miles were subtracted from my account. I just don't want to get to the airport and have a problem/be disapointed. Also, how is Envoy Class?

Thanks!

If you have Envoy seat assignments, you're confirmed. Envoy is excellent, and be sure and take advantage of the Arrivals service in London.

Two flights to LGW -- right now the earlier flight is a 767: it's fine in Envoy, the later flight is an Airbus 330 -- it's outstanding in Envoy with the great Sony Passport entertainment system. Many posts on this board about Envoy class... Enjoy!

I would call U and ask if they have the upgrade certificate number in each reservation and if the answer is yes, you are all set. If nothing is entered, then they would be expecting a certificate for each upgrade when you check in at the airport.

So just call and they will have the answers for you and you will be at ease for your wonderful trip in envoy.

P.S. the Rep usually tells you that they will be sending out paper certificates or processing the request electronically.

No certificates are needed for mileage "purchased" envoy awards. They should send you the "Ticket By Mail" itineraries which will serve as your confirmation. If they took out your miles, and you have seat assignments, you're all set. Have a great time.
