US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Shuttle triple mileage

The triple milage on the shuttle--does this go towards status through Feb., 2004, or only towards 2003 (ie, the rest of this calendar year)? I find the promo language a little confusing. Anyone have an answer?

It counts for your regular preferred miles this year (cal year 2002) to qualify or requalify for Preferred status in the year 2003. Of course, if you gain new status this year, you will get that status for the rest of this year plus all of next year.
