The family and I frequently fly from Calgary Alberta Canada to British Columbia and Ottawa. West Jet is always the cheapest but I wish there was some way to earn some kind of frequent flyer points. Can any one out there help??

Westjet doesn't accept airmiles...they haven't for awhile now.
They have thier own frequent flyer programme. Its not great. Check out the details here. (http://www.westjet.com/guest/en/business-travel/frequent-guest-program/frequent-guest-rewards.shtml)
And I doubt WestJet is always the cheapest, especially with their new pricing structure. I often find them comparable or more expensive than Tango fares on AC. Sometimes even the same price as Tango PLUS fares on AC.
Outside of their own program, the only way to earn Air Miles, or other airline points/miles is to use a branded credit card for the purchase. You can redeem Air Miles to fly on Westjet (as well as many other airlines).
