I will be making my first trip on US Airways next month. I'm just wondering, is there any in-flight entertainment in coach going to San Juan? Is there any charge for headsets? The aircrafts are 737, A320, and 757. Thanks.

Here is the entertainment. Don't know about the cost. Free in FC.

The flight from the mainlaind to San Juan should have entertainment, but unless you are originating from DEN or further west, your connecting flight will not have entertainment (save the wonderful safety video and 10,000 feet US promotional video on 757/767/319/320/321 and certain 733/734 with video screens).

It is a shame you couldn't book your trip on an A-330. The IFE is second to none in any class.

Highflyer88, if the cost of headphones is actually a factor, why not just buy your own? It will pay for itself. You can pick up a pair of cheapie noise-cancelling Noisebusters (http://www.nctgroupinc.com/nbex.htm) at Sharper Image for $40. It's the same headset they use in Envoy Class. Plus with the noise-cancelling technology, you might even be able to hear and understand the movie. (Of course, there are more expensive brands, too.)

I wasn't sure what type of headset plugs they were using. The ones on Air Canada are the two prong type, which is not the typical standard plug.

I think you can get an adapter for NC headsets for use on two-prong jacks typical on most airline seats (I think US uses the two-prong jack along with the much bigger two-prong jack for the tube headsets)

The US 319/320/321 aircraft have 2-prong headphones; not sure about 757 or 330.

I was reading the Attache mag today and noticed it did not say head set rental $5. I don't remember the exact wording but it said somthing like "$5 to listen to the movie". I doubt they would enforce it but you may get a by the book FA.....

I will be inflight entertainment to San Juan, telling a few jokes, little juggling, some mind reading and capping off with some R-rated hypnosis. No $ charge, just 500 ff miles...

PHL-SFO on Saturday--FA announced the $5 fee was an entertainment fee to be paid even if you had your own headphones.

I have never had to pay when I use my own headphones, and I don't think the F/A's worry about it too much either. The Eastbound movie this month sucks, so I would say wait until it is half way through and go and ask for a headset. When I have done this they never ask for the $5. It is also a 2 prong system on the 757
