Argentina - U2 in Argentina in March - two shows

Bono and the guys will be down here playing at the Estadio Unico de La Plata. Ive already secured my tickets.... will be going to the first show. Anybody else coming...?

Funilly enough I was watching vids of U2 on You Tube the other day when they played at River Plate stadium last year. Could just have been the vids but the sound quality didn't come over too well even though they were professional vids and not those useless mobile phone ones.....were you there?

We missed out on their last visit as our youngest was still very very little and my wife did not want to leave her side for more than 5 minutes. Lucily the kids are a little older now and can do without us for a couple of hours... :D

I was getting excited about a neat start to my trip this spring, but then I realized it was the 360 tour ...

Went to it when they came to Vancouver and it was an okay concert, but not as good as what I understand people expected it to be. I hope you enjoy them though! If nothing else the music is always enjoyable!

Care to elaborate...? What did you think was missing...?

My wife is a huge fan (I like U2 but Im not a crazy fan).... I hope she is not dissapointed.

I am going down for all three shows (I'm a big fan, the previous 3 tours I've hit 15 shows a tour...). Plus a nice vacation, of course. Cashed in some AA miles for a Milesaver award ticket on LAN. This will be my second trip to Argentina (first was in 2004) - will spend over a week in Buenos Aires. I am looking to hit Punta del Este for a couple of days as well. I'm a little concerned about getting from BsAs. to La Plata for each show since I don't drive, but I'm hearing there will be buses and other transport?

Wow... all three shows... :eek: I think Bono needs to get you a special backstage pass... :D

Please note that Punta will be quiet as it will be off season.

I've gotten a couple of kisses (on the cheek) from him already, so I'm good. :D

I know it will be off (or more like shoulder) season in Punta - that's why I'm going this time, cheaper hotel. :D It will be a weekend (March 25-28) and still quite warm, so I imagine it won't totally be dead, not that I am a party animal anyway. ;)

Question: Is there a left luggage or similar facility at AEP? My flight gets into EZE at 12:30, but my flight to Punta doesn't leave AEP until 21:00. Or will I be able to check a bag as early as 7 hours beforehand on Pluna?

Folks... if any FTers are in town for tomorrow's concert (Wed March 30th) and have arranged transportation... please let me know. I up for sharing a ride, etc. - I dont feel like driving all the way to La Plata tomorrow.

It is so far, you need 2 days' provisions and if the mule decides to quit, you are stuck in the middle of nowhere :eek: :p
