From out of nowhere today, I received the following in an email: From: DMPromotions@usairways.com
Dear MARK LOVE,

Although you didn't have activity during the June statement period (activity through June 4, 2002), we've included exciting Dividend Miles News and Offers below.
1. I had no idea I had miles over there. They must be Republic (?) Airline holdover miles or something.
2. Shouldn't they have expired long ago if they were.
3. I've never received snail mail or email from them before. In fact, how the heck did they get my email address??!!
4. Why do they just now start sending me emails?
5. What can I get for 8183 miles?
Think I'll give 'em a buzz to find out what's up. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Maybe chexfan, geo and Beckles got together and gave US your email address just so you would post here just once Mr. Love.

Wouldn't be Republic - they were acquired by NWA. How 'bout Piedmont or PSA?

US miles don't expire I believe (I had miles in my account for the longest time previously, US being my first ever FF account from back when I first went to college).

Well, technically only miles earned before January 1, 2000 will never expire (under the current program rules), even if you don't have airline or partner activity. Otherwise, some type of activity is required within a 36-month period before miles start to expire.
Here's a link to the official US mileage expiration policy: http://www.usairways.com/dividendmiles/programinfo/expiration.htm

Piedmont! That's it. I used to fly them a ton. Way back before Radar. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Could of sworn I used up my miles long ago though.
Magazines? Yeech. What am I going to do with another subscription to Nursing Mother?
Looks like I'll have to book a few flights or something, just to round out the account for something valuable to be included in the Bankruptcy. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Thanks All. Though I still want to know how they tracked me down. Could have been Steve Wolf, I suppose.

Could have been that UA settled all outstanding claims arising from walking away from the US merger by trading you, PremEx?

I too, rarely used USAirways.
Last year, before the UA-US buyout crashed, I got comped to Gold mostly for the free SWU certs.
So last fall, I took US to Rome for about US$ 440 and sat confirmed in Business through my U/G certs. With all of the promos that I signed up for, this one trip earned me about 60,000 miles and 8 or 16 new domestic upgrade certs!
And the Business seats and food were good, the service and punctuality were EXCELLANT, and I wish that UA could consistantly offer what US delivered on the cheap trip.
US offers confirmed upgrades to Business
from all fare codes except their lowest for 20K miles each way. (This cheapest upgradeable fare is about like UA's V fare.)
So maybe, despite the looming bankruptcy, topping off your account could make sense. Perhaps this would be easiest through Hilton stays and rental cars.
