If anyone has any suggestions about where to go away in NY (State) for a nice weekend, at a kosher catered hotel/lodge etc, I'd be most appreciative! Google isn't being its usual helpful self... :D

Someone is bitter about having spent too many Shabbosim at the Homowak A"H ;).

But in all seriousness, it is something that is lacking.

LoL

but would you want to have to deal with this crowd, heck even in MB I believe all the Shomer Shabbos Hotels are a thing of the past

There are Cities where you cant find 1 Hotel that is willing any longer to have a Pesach program, simply due to all the damage that those who were there caused. I dont know who caused more damage the kids or the adults

and yes although Im not in that Biz I know a few people that are and when they called up they were told No Way No How any more. About the only exception will be if the Hotel was planning to renovate

some guests thought it was OK to simply drive and park anywhere they wanted to on the Hotels lawns, no problem picking the flowers and bringing them to your room for Shabbos Kodesh after all we are paying guests and therefore everything is at our disposal, I kid you not

Unfortunately, in my experience(s) this is all true. Which is why I don't really miss these programs anyway, as they all suffer from various degrees of the problems you mention. I've only been to one (in Europe) recently that was very different, but it was a different crowd...
