I am familiar with ITN and VT and they work great to check inventory in the various fare classes and to see your current seat assignment. However, where can I see the seat maps of what seats are taken/open without going thru the motions of buying a ticket then cancelling?

Oh, you just want all the secrets don't you mileshound! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
In all honesty, the way you described is the way I check. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
If there's another way, someone please enlighten all of us. I go through all the motions of booking a ticket on ITN before being given the 'select seats' option. Then I realize I didn't enter First Class so I have to backtrack. What a pain.

I was hoping there was a better way but it's nice to see that I'm not alone. I think it is Fewmiles' web site that has a seat map for AA.
The only way I know of is by going through the whole reservations process at itn.net.
What is "VT"?
(BTW, FT'r bdelmen has created a java thingie for viewing AA and DL seatmaps. the new AA.com also includes a view seatmap feature on its website. This is without the cumbersome process of making a reservation. Just punch in flight number, cities, and date.)

VT = Virtually there. (I was lazy).
For some, it shows your seat assignment.
