I've found some Web sites, with little info, stating that there are United and US Airways clubs at BWI, but is this info just outdated? The UA and US Web sites mention no clubs at BWI. My wife will be departing BWI on Continental Airlines fc to connect to a Business First international flight in Houston, and if there were a club she could use, hopefully she could take me in as well (I'll be flying domestic-only fc on United Airlines, which I realize, on its own, wouldn't get me even into a Red Carpet Club). She will be able to use a Continental President's Club in Houston. We did use the US Airways club at DCA on a recent trip, but on this trip, ticket prices dictated BWI. The only seemingly current info on a club at BWI was for the British Airways club, and that wouldn't help us.

No PC or US Airways club at BWI. US Airways proably had one at one time when they had the large BWI operation.

Thanks. Yes, BWI remains the poor cousin among the DC-area airports. Poorest selection of eateries and stores (couldn't even find a TSA-approved lock, and the only place I could find that sold actual luggage was the American Airlines counter-- Delta agent told me about it). Fares can sometimes be lower, but the facilities are second rate. Maybe it gets fewer business travelers, so the airlines feel the demand for clubs there is lower than at DCA or IAD. So, unless you're flying international, no clubs at all.

United used to have a club at BWI but closed it a number of years ago, when they were trying to save money. Not that domestic RCCs are great, but it sure beats no club. That is one of the reasons why I always fly into DCA or IAD these days.

one of the clubs (us or ua) was closed after a major gate change at bwi. to move the club to another corridor, the liquor license would have to have been transferred. in maryland, everything to do with liquor is a heavily graft riddled buerocy, controlled by the beer wholesalers.

I lived in Silver Spring, Maryland for a while, so know that it actually varies by county. Montgomery County, for example, is, I believe, the only county in the country that has its own liquor stores (hard liquor is sold only there; beer and wine could be sold in private stores), much like the state stores in Virginia and some other states. Prince Georges County was much more open. Isn't BWI in Howard County? I don't know what the situation is there.

Can't help with "the situation", but BWI is in Anne Arundel County.

If memory serves, the only lounge left at BWI is BA's Chesapeake Club in the international terminal. Well, unless you count USO.
