US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - How long before they recognize preferred status?

I should make gold on a promotion by the end of April. I am flying 2 weeks later and would like to use the preferred/first lines at the airport. Will I be considered "gold" at that point? I can't imagine they could get a card out that soon to me. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You may not get your Preferred card by the time of your flight, but your status should be recognized in the system, and you can take advantage of Preferred check-in, boarding, etc.. Note that you may have to have an agent re-enter your DM number in order for your new status to appear - call the DM desk to verify your status before your flight.

Your status uggrade should also show up on the website after you qualify, but it doesn't hurt to call
