Hello US FTers,

USAirways just posted a $1 companion fare sale on USAirways.com for selected markets.

Good luck finding a fare that has seats available. I've been checking fares yesterday and today and haven't found one yet on the days I need to travel with a companion.

Has anyone had any luck on flights out of BOS, BED, or PVD?

Just booked 2 tickets to LAS. Came out to around 285/person, plus I was able to use my 25 baggage coupon. Its a decent fare but I didn't feel like waiting for another sale with the trip being less than a month away.

This appears to be a delayed response to Southwest's Friends Fly Free promo. The dates and markets match.

Thanks for posting the information.

For anyone who is able to use this promo, the companion fares are upgradeable and accrue points normally (according to the reservations agent with whom I spoke).

I tried bwi-lax. The regular cheapest fare is $215 with tax included, so it is $430 total. If you want to use $1 companion fare, the first passenger's fare goes up to more than $400, it ends up the same deal.

The companion deal has been around on the Web site for about a week and a half now, though US certainly hasn't been pushing it.

Looks like the only way to get it was to book through US.com and set passengers to two.

My girlfriend's sister used it to book a Spring Break trip from Columbus to Florida and I used it to book BWI to St. Louis over Memorial Day. I paid about $185 per person -- about $10 more than Southwest's companion deal, but I'll pay a little extra to avoid Greyhound.

These companion fares are also available via reservations over the phone Fare codes VE31AN/KE31AN....may show about 4 or more lines down in a fare quote because the initial ticket is higher, but have the rep price 2 or more and hopefully they will pay attention that the second ticket prices for just the taxes ( about 32.00).

Enjoy !

Is there any trick to finding this fare? Every date combination I use does not have it. I am looking at Hartford to Denver in the beginning of August.

Thanks!
Adam

If this is a response to Southwest's promo, then you probably aren't going to find a companion fare to Denver since it is not a Southwest market.
