US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Anybody know what security times are at LGA and DCA?

I haven't flown the Shuttle since December. Just wondering what the lines are like for the Shuttle. Even in December, I could come in an hour before the flight and still make it. Just wondering if this is still the case.

I think it depends on the time of day and what day. The last 2 times on Fridays I was flying out of the C concourse at DCA, it took 20-30 minutes to clear security at around 3 PM. I noticed that early morning on Friday there were no lines to get in. Trip tomorrow and Friday so I can update.

I've been several times recently. I generally fly later in the evening (7 or 8 pm)
Over President's day weekend --
Thurs. 14 Feb leaving LGA - at security at 5 pm. no line whatsoever - zipped right though in about 30 secs.

Tues. 19 Feb leaving DCA at security at 6 pm. line of about 10 people in front of x-ray machines. took about 7 minutes to get up to x-ray machine. They then opened up my bag for a hand search since I had hand-cream (in a plastic bottle from Bath & Body WOrks) that they thought was suspicious. what a joke.

Hi, everyone --

I flew out of DCA last Thursday at 2:10 pm, walked right through the checkpoint to the US gates -- no problem at all, less than five minutes.

The big delay seemed to be UPSTAIRS, at check-in, even in the Preferred line. Luckally, they had deployed a bunch of new check-in kiosks and had staff on hand to help out with them, so it took me about 10 minutes to check in (just needed to wait for a free kiosk).

Judging by the regular lines, though, Preferred check-in would have taken about 15 minutes or so, and general check-in was definitely pushing the 45 minute mark. They seemed to be understaffed behind the counter; I've never seen lines that long at DCA before during mid-day.

All it takes to create a 15 minute wait at the DCA Preferred lines is two Preferreds checking in at the same time with "changes" of some type to their tickets. Normally they staff 2 agents for Preferred/FC.

On Tuesday at DCA there was no line at around 8AM to get through security. No line at 5PM either. So must have hit it just right on a Friday when I hit a line (President's Day weekend and all of Congress and the Administration were leaving and going to the head of the line?)

At 8AM this Friday, security at DCA had a line that was 20-25 deep. At 2PM it was about 10-15. But the checkin lines were huge at 2PM, about 150 in regular and 20 in Preferred and even the eticket kiosks seemed to be congested so I took my eticket itineary though security where she studied it for 30 seconds. I went to the Club where there were 3 agents and just me. Checked in for my comfy seat on a packed Dash 8.
