US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - LGW departure lounges

Am gearing up for the big "burn some miles" flight to Europe. Was reviewing the departure info on the international travel section and saw that LGW has two departure lounges - "Sir Robert Haringham Suite" near Gate 12D and the "Sir Ivor Broom Suite" on the lower level. Any comments on which is better or if ther is any real difference?

The Broom Suite on the lower level at LGW is a standard, third-party lounge. Juices, sodas, some pretzel snacks and the like. Nothing to get excited about other than it is quiet and close to the gates. Smoking is (or was) allowed so it's a bit musty. I haven't been in there for a year so it might have changed.....
I though US just opened a new lounge at LGW? Or was that an arrivals only lounge?

The new one appears to be the arrivals lounge.

What ever happened to the USAirways Club that was supposed to be built at LGW? Were the plans canceled? I haven't heard anything about it in awhile.

Itrade, I was just there on Z tix and even as a CP with US Club membership, was denied use of the Sir Robert lounge. Apparently you must be Envoy class or higher to get in. I did not try the other lounge.
London was great...excellent and warm weather, 60's and 70's, for the end of October.

Itrade, let me know how those Envoy seats are. They looked great on the A330's. I had 3 with me, so we "suffered" in coach...only about 75 on the way over and 50 on the way back, so lots of room to stretch out.

Coach seats on the A330 aren't that bad.

When I've traveled through, I've only had the invitation to the Broom Suite. Not much to write home about. I'm guessing the Haringham Suite is there for the rare flight that does not depart out of the Satellite (where the Broom Suite is located).
US announced (not too long ago) it would be opening up a Club at LGW - but still haven't heard a target date. There is (of course) the new arrivals lounge.

Chexfan, you are correct...The A330 coach seats are pretty good, especially with that adjustable headrest (which is also on AA 737-800s). But those Envoy seats looked awfully enticing...

I'm still on the lookout for a projected date for opening the USAirways Club at London Gatwick. The USAirways website says only "spring". I will be traveling through Gatwick in late March & early April and would like to know whether I will be able to use it. Anyone have any info?
