I noticed today that when Double TIER miles first posted, the segements flown were also doubled. However, when those transcation were compiled into monthly statements, the double segments were taken off, however, the miles still stay. Anyone noticed this situation and why is that?

Same thing happened to me. I attributed it to the well documented fact that bizarre things happen to your online account in the 2-3 days before statement time. Double segs went away, kept double miles. The promotion doesn't say anything about double segs and I plan to requalify for gold on miles anyway.
