MilesBuzz! - Healthy Choice offer: Miles curiousity

Just 'cause I'm nosy and want to see how much this has cost them, would everyone please post how many miles they intend to obtain from this offer by the end of May?

As for me, I have enough for 4000 miles now. but I have a spare freezer in the basement, and I'm considering going for 10,000 before the double offer runs out.

3000 or maybe 4000. I haven't counted up yet to be sure. I need to get out to the store and buy enough to make it to the next nearest 10. Needing the receipts makes this deal a little more annoying http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

1000 miles for the May offer. Maybe another 500 miles by the year end.

OMNI: this receipts thing always bugged me and members of my Coupon Clippers Club.

Now think about it... would we take a box of Healthy Choice chewy gooey Ice Cream or Frozen chicken livers or hot dogs, rip off the upc symbol in the store and then just toss the package aside???

They should trust us.

Now I wish PEPSI would do a similar offer! I could earn enough miles for a round the world trip!!!

And to get back on topic... I will earn ZERO MILES because I don't eat Healthy CHoice.

I've already sent for 10,000 miles thanks to the double miles certificates sent to me by the very generous Counselor and Henwood. I have one certificate left and should be able to get another 3,000 or 4,000 miles more. Healthy Choice had another travel related promotion last year so anytime I bought one of their products I saved the receipt. I agree this is a real pain in the neck, but at least my pack rat ways have finally paid off.

Just a suggestion (OK, I said I wasn't going to post again but I can't stay away!!!)

Make copies of the certificate, the receipts you sent in and date the piece of paper when you sent it just to be sure Healthy CHoice honors this request.

I have a feeling the folks at ConAgra are going to be so swamped with certificates they are going to lose a few along the way!!!

Right now I've got enough for 7k, and I plan on hitting the store this week to get enough for 10k then I'll be sending it all in before the end of the month.....Catman, my thoughts exactly about making copies of everything, just in case...

10,000 pt. and I'm probable done.
A friend of mine gave me some coupons for $1 off when you buy 3 frozen dinners. Meijer's in Michigan had a 3 for $5 sale on any frozen dinner. So I was able to get them for $1.33 each.
The Meijer newspaper had a picture of the double up coupon in the sale ad so I thought the double coupons would be all over the store. WRONG! No one at the store had a clue what the coupon was or where to get one. If I hadn't had one already I would have been really ticked, expecially since I had 30 frozen item in my cart thawing out as they read and re-read the ad to see what I was talking about.

Knowitall plans to accumulate all the receipts and product codes until later in the year and then send in the biggest package Healthy Choice ever received - probably at least 25000-50000 miles worth. I've been eating this stuff for years, and have responded to many Healthy Choice mail in promos with 100% satisfaction, with respect to both response time and receiving the correct item. This is beginning to sound like KNOWITALL is some lackey for Healthy Choice/ConAgra! Not so at all, but, the "legalBS" guys would probably state that the experiences of one consumer do not guarantee that other consumers will have the same results. I'm out of here!

Yes, Meijer's does have a 3 for $5.00 in
Columbus, Ohio too. The double coupons were all over the place, but showed up about 10 days after the 500's. I really think this is a lot of work to go to for a few miles..I
have sent in 1000 miles on the 500's deal
and 1000 miles on the double..estimate maybe another 2000 miles til end of year. But, I
am doing it anyway!!

Healthy Choice microwave popcorn goes for 50 cents a bag. Thats 125.00 worth for a continental US economy ticket......with a lot of popcorn left over. Still experimenting on how to get the UPC off without affecting how well the popcorn pops.

MileKing
May 10, 99, 7:58 pm
Hey, is the popcorn available for purchase by the bag or part of a larger box? And does each individual bag count as a UPC code/purchase? It would seem that if part of a larger box, then the box itself would only count as the purchase.

We will be claiming 7000 by the end of May. Since we will be buying about 10 a week, I expect to claim about another 12-13,000 by the end of the year.

I'm up to about 3,000, expect to get another 2,000 by the end of the month, and probably another 5,000 by year's end. I'm spreadsheeting how much this is costing me per mile (minus coupons of course)! Thanks again to Counsellor for the double cert and alerting us to this deal!

Addendum: I'll be mailing 7,000 miles worth tomorrow (5/29) at the P.O.--having them hand-cancel it too to ensure the postmarked deadline. Cost per mile: $0.0155

Will collect 2000 miles by the end of May (Thanks to Henwood for the double certs) and maybe another 1000 by year end. I actually don't eat Healthy Choice all that much except for their packaged deli (extremely convenient for lazy people like me). However, I have gone all out and bought their cereal, canned soups, and spaghetti sauce this past couple of weeks just to get the miles. I even walked up and down every single aisle in tbe grocery store just to find Healthy Choice label on any goods. The stuff I have bought are still on my shelf staring at me when I go home. I think I may be a little crazy! My friends certainly think I am!

Don't forget that the best of this deal ends at the end of May. With the double certs you only have to buy half of what you would normally have to to get the same number of miles!

I believe that Healthy CHoice offers deli meats that you can purchase at the deli counter (not the pre-packaged stuff). I suppose you could buy single slices of say roast beef to get a UPC symbol and receipt. This is probably less expensive than the $0.50 microwave popcorn bag, although the deli counter might not be too pleased having to package each slice separately.

henwood
May 11, 99, 9:53 pm
There is no UPC required when buying the deli meats. Only the "dated cash register receipt with the item circled". 1/4 lb. minimum purchase. Probably still a good way to go. Buy a lot of quarter pounds on one receipt.

Counsellor
May 12, 99, 2:53 am
So far I've enough UPCs for slightly over 12,000 miles! Also a pantry full of soup and a freezer full of cold cuts and Hearty Handfuls. If I find enough coupons, and enough specials, I may make the max on United (40 certificates, or 20K miles). Wouldn't that be something?

I won't have to buy soup for a year, or cold cuts for months!

Well. We'll have about 14000 to 16000 with the double mile promotion by the end of May. We've got it down to about 1.25 per 100 miles. Thus about 250.00 for a 20k frequent flyer ticket, and the additional food to eat. Good thing my wife and I like the meals. Yes, I'm obsessive. She's a psychologist.

Gold medal to my wife, who's the sagacious and astute shopper.

Ralphs double coupons. Getting many of the hot pockets when they're on sale as well.

Just got an email back from Healthy Choice Customer Service......If you buy a six pack of soups.....or a three pack of popcorn you can only use the upc from the package...not the individual cans or bags of popcorn.

Evidently after we submit our proofs of purchase, register receipts, and coupon(s) specifying the airline for which we choose to receive miles, we'll all be sent certificates for the miles on that airline. The point here is that we then have to submit those certificates to the airline for credit, and it turns out that's a good thing.

That's because the mileage certs themselves will have an expiration date that (I believe) extends into the year 2000. If you wait until then to deposit them, you'll extend the life of those miles by a year for airlines that have expiration dates based on year of accrual (like American and United). So that's the tip--when you get your actual mileage certs, make sure I'm right about their having an expiration date into the year 2000, and, unless you need them for an award now, wait until that year to deposit them.

Happy eating!

Many thanks to those who mailed me the double mile coupons. Anybody have any suggestions as to how to remove upc code from the deli meats (turkey/ham) without destroying the package. Once opened they will spoil. Has anyone tried freezing opened packages - or got the label off without opening the package. And what about the cheese? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm off to the supermarket today for my last purchase - soup at $1.79 plus .50 off every three. I'll be mailing in for 11,000 miles later today.

I buy the deli meats in a cardboard box with a plastic bag inside - but the ziplock type bag works wonders if you have to cut any bag.

Thanks

I called Healthy Choice and they said postmarked by the 31st.
I've called them twice and both times received a free coupon for any frozen product (Yum-Yum Cherry vanilla ice cream) a week later with a letter thanking me for my interest. I used the 800 number listed on all their products.

Thanks to Counsellor (who sent me the double miles coupon) I was able to get 20k miles, the max, on United. Unfortunately I now have a kitchen full of HC soup, pasta sauce, pudding, and popcorn. Actually, I discovered that I really like the HC Ice Cream!

Too bad points drop back to 500 miles/10 UPC symbols. At 1000 miles, each UPC symbol was worth 100 miles or about $2.00 -- enough to justify buying six months worth of soup!

Thanks be to Counsellor who sent me a double certificate!!!! I just mailed off 90 UPCs for 9,000 miles. A local grocery store had the Healthy Choice entrees on sale 3 for $3 and I had coupons that brought many of them to free! I like the Chicken Alfredo and popcorn and that's about it of their products. I made copies of everything and got proof of mailing. I called Healthy Choice this morning and they said that 6/1 postmark would not be honored eventhough 5/31 is a holiday (no mail) and 5/30 is a sunday (no mail) and I don't know if postal service postmarks on saturday but they are closed to the public. Let's all keep our eyes open for a new doubler certificate!!! Maybe if we all email them asking for another doubler promotion. . . .
