For anyone who parks in Coral Gables municipal parking lots overnight please be aware that the Municipal parking authorities isssue parking violations to every legally aprked car overnight in their lots. When exiting and paying make certain you have proof, then you must contact the parking supervisor who then sometimes cancels the tickets. I have a violation now that was for a stay for which I paid but they did not cancel. Hertz forwarded my Dl data and the citation with penalties arrived today.
The citation was 100% bogus but I still will have time and expense to fight it which will cost more than paying the fraudulent citation. I am still trying to fight, but the deck is clearly stacked against anybody who does not live in the city.
Moral: do NOT stay overnight in Coral Gables city garages if you're driving a rental car.
