TalkBoard Topics - Request: Have a "Southeast" Separate from "South" Forum
I wouldn't mind splitting a Southeast Forum for NC, SC, GA, FL, TN, KY and maybe Virginia off from the South Forum which could thereafter be TX, MS, LA, AL, AK. It seems odd to me that people are requesting information for Houston and Charlotte in the same forum.

Agree. Or give Texas our own forum since half the threads there are TX related. :D

Can Texas posts be put into the Mexico Forum?

The main reason why I don't really support this idea off the bat is because the South forum isn't a very active forum. To segment it even further would make it, IMHO, less useful. Right now, there's "enough" people using that may have input that they may not have expected to have. However, if it were to be segmented out further, it'd be detrimental to the forum.
I don't see the value of changing that forum.

Or "The West Forum," if we go by original intent

I am completely agree with you, too. :)

This is a fair point. However, perhaps people who want information about North Carolina, Atlanta, Florida etc. are confused by the "South" forum and when they open it and see all the Texas threads they choose not to post. Probably a weak argument. Thank you for answering so promptly.

I agree that the geographic forum list could use some cleaning. As another but unrelated example, the Middle East is treated (in the list structure) as part of Asia. Try explaining that to an Egyptian.

You can't even explain that to an Israeli and we are in Asia!

I agree. ^I proposed this to the TalkBoard a few years ago and there was little enthusiasm for the proposal. Thus, it just went away.
Having a Texas Forum makes as much sense as having a California forum.
Some people think of TX as South, others as West.
Hope that the TB will consider having a Texas Forum.
Thanks.

I'd support that as a good silver medal to my failed Southeast proposal.

I can live with a new Southeast forum. And I can live with a Texas forum as well.
Why stumble around trying to find the right geographical forum in which to pose your question or comments??
I think we have enough bandwidth around here to expand the Regional Destination forums and make them both make sense and be more regionally specific.
As was pointed out earlier, I think that having questions about Charlotte and Houston in the same thread is a bit ridiculous in this day and age.

As there are a heck of a lot of Texas posts in the South forum, I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of a Texas forum either. Need to look into some more, but definitely open to it.
I could certainly be persuaded for a Texas forum or a Southeast forum with demonstration of an unmet need for either one.
