Florida - MIA quick turnaround 5 pm Tuesday
I'll have 90 min on the ground in concourse J starting around 5 pm. I gather I cannot move between concourses (except maybe to H?) airside. Is that enough time to exit, go to pre-security dining in central terminal, and re-clear security at J?
Thanks.

There are very limited landside dining options at MIA. As part of the major remodeling of the North Terminal, the favored Cuban restaurant, La Carreta, was moved from its landside location to an airside location in the North Terminal, Concourse D.
There is a restaurant in the (landside) in-airport hotel, but I don't know anything about its quality (or lack of same).

IT should be just enough time so long as you do not dawdle. The only decent landside option AFAIK is the Hotel MIA restaurant, located on the top floor of the hotel that is, if I recall right beside concourse F. It is OK, nothing more. I'd probably opt for one of the fastfood options airside just to avoid the hassle of going through security again at the evening rush.

I thought that there was pre-security versions of Versailles and La Carreta.
I guess I'll stay airside for this one... I'll be back in Miami for 36 hours on the weekend.

I have seen the La Carreta locationon the baggage claim level of the North Terminal, and that one is definitely just a counter-type operation (no seating area that I saw).
As it happens I was re-routed onto AA due to irrops and ate at La Carreta in D. Which resembled the old pre-security one which I had not been to in years. What is with the new skytrain? Took longer to appear as a sardine-packed car than it eventually took me to walk the length of the terminal?
Will be passing through again Monday; much of the H/J options are in the connecting hallway between the two. D seemed much better set up with restaurants.
Announcements very loud throughout terminal- hard to talk on the e.
