US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - When will my Preferred status register?

I made Silver Preferred through the silver/gold challenge, with my 10th segment occuring a week ago (October 28th). After 3 days the last segment posted and, looking at the web site, I see that it says Silver Preferred. This was true as of Wednesday, November 1st.

This weekend (November 3-4) I travelled on US. However, my silver preferred status doesn't show up on my tickets. It just says 'dividend miles' where my status would probably go.

I used the preferred check-in line at BWI just fine. When I got to the gate and noticed it didn't say Silver, I asked the gate agent, who said it wasn't in the computer at all. Coming back through PIT I asked at special services, and the guy there said it was in the computer, for some reason it just doesn't show up on the ticket itself. He printed me out some ticket report, on plain paper, that noted I was preferred.

My question is: when will this be noted on my tickets? It concerns me that it's in part of the system but not all of it, especially since I did this on a challenge. Does something have to be set by hand? Should I call-- well, I don't have the preferred number yet, but just dividend miles number?

This doesn't surprise me. I'm not sure about the US system, but for UA and DL it takes between 2 and 7 days for the reservation system to match up with a new elite status.

Same thing happened to me. Just call the DM office and they will take care of it for you. They should send you a packet w/in a few weeks.

If you bought the tix before becoming preferred, call your preferred reservations number and have them make sure the membership number is on the record, with the status. The system doesn't seem to go backwards to prior reservations to update your status.

I made Silver Oct. 25. I flew again Nov. 3-4. My reservation didn't have my FF #, when I gave it to them at the gate, my boarding pass stated Silver. I haven't received my packet but it is in the system.

I registered as a Dividends Miles member on September 1st.

Today, November 6, I finally got my welcome pack, with Dividend Miles card.

Of course, I'm already Silver Preferred by this point. The question is: will I get my new benefits before next year?

9 weeks to get a welcome pack and FF card seems grossly inefficient to me.

(Edited because I'm a moron who can't type...)

Actually, alot of airlines don't even send a welcome kit until you fly at least once on their airline. I don't see the big deal about not having Dividend Miles Member card. Just make sure your DM# is on your ticket and be on your way.

Now 2 months for Preferred Welcome Kits is another story...

Just a followup to myself.

I made Silver Preferred on a flight I took on October 28th By November 1st Silver Preferred was showing on the web site On November 4th Silver Preferred was not showing at the airport checkin On November 7th, my Silver Preferred packet allegedly went out via 3rd class mail On November 8th Silver Preferred was registering on the telephone system On November 12th, I went ahead and tried to book SWU upgrades on an international flight at the end of the month. I got outbound confirmed, inbound wait-listed On November 21st, my Silver Preferred packet (with the SWUs) arrived. Yay!! On November 21st, my inbound SWU cleared. Yay again!

Whew. I was a little worried booking the upgrade before I had the SWUs in hand, but it all worked out okay.
