Was flying through PHL today and when I got off my plane to make the hike over to Terminal B to make a connection, there were National Guard and other security folks turning people away, saying the terminal was closed for security reasons. From what I heard there was a security breach and all passengers were forced to exit security and re-enter, even the folks who had already boarded flights... Anyone know the full story to what the security breach was?

Found it out on the web
In a separate incident, hundreds of passengers were also evacuated from the U.S. Airways terminal at Philadelphia International Airport after a pilot made a remark about a gun.

You know, I'm sure we're all getting frustrated having our nail clippers and metal hair combs confiscated, but I'm nonetheless surprised that a pilot, of all people, would throw out a wise-... remark about having a gun. I've certainly gotten the message they do NOT have a sense of humor about these things!
I'm glad the pilot joked about having a gun. Maybe a pilot doing so, as opposed to a plain old passenger, will get the attention of the powers that be to stop the stupidity! The FAA now allows nail clippers (duh!) What is the problem?
