US Airways Commits to Reopen Ticketing Office
Charlotte, N.C. -- US Airways President and CEO Rakesh Gangwal told Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory that the airline would reopen a ticketing office in Charlotte. Numerous US Airways ticketing offices were closed across the country after the September 11 terrorist attacks including five offices in Charlotte.
The Ballantyne ticketing office located at 15105-D John Delaney Drive will reopen within 30 days.
“I am pleased with my conversations with Mr. Gangwal’s and his decision to reopen a ticketing office in Charlotte,” stated McCrory. “I am hopeful that we can regain more US Airways jobs, plus many of the other jobs recently lost throughout the Charlotte region.”
Mayor McCrory added, “We will continue to work with US Airways to regain services and jobs lost since September 11. This initial rehire is a positive first step.”
