Oceania (Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific) - ETA Validity Question

We were in SYD feb 16-20 2010. We will be in SYD Feb 8-10 2011. We applied for our ETA last year through American Airlines seveal months before February. I dont have an actual date, only the entry stamp in our passport for when we entered Australia. Is the ETA one year validity from the time of application or one year from the date of entry?

ETA is valid for 12 months for a stay of up to 3 months duration; so 12 months from date of application and 3 months from date of entry (multiple entry allowd but you must leave Oz by 12 months after your application date). http://www.eta.immi.gov.au/ETAAus3En.html

Since you can get a free ETA on FT, that isn't a big deal :)

How do you know the date of application. I did it over the phone with the airlines?
