I'm planning an award ticket for next year and after having the time of my life in Delhi and Rajasthan, I wanted to head a little further south and stop in Mumbai. The way the ticket is shaping up with availability, it looks like I'd be in Mumbai in mid to late May. As I understand, this is right at or right before the start of the monsoon season and in general might be a very unpleasant time to visit.

Any thoughts on this? Should I consider dropping Mumbai from my stops or would I be able to enjoy 3/4 days without having regrets? I was in Delhi in September, so that's my extent of knowledge for Indian weather....

How much humidity can you tolerate outside. Its relatively humid even though the monsoon may not have reached. I've enjoyed Mumbai in may and hopefully you'd too. Fairly warm as well.

Its gonna be quite hot and humid, so if u r ready for it its fine..
But I guess 3/4 days is too much for mumbai unless u hv some specific plans there.. 2 days is more than enuf for sightseeing IMO..

OP, what do you want to do in Mumbai? Unless you have friends there who can show you the real city, there is not a whole lot interesting to see or do. And the weather will be awful.

cmon, 1-2 days would not be too bad if the OP has not visited Mumbai yet..

April/May is about as hot as it gets in BOM, not a recommended time to visit. If you are passing thru to some other place you could stopover, but flying hours just to go to BOM??

PS: I lived nearly 6 years there, but can't think of more than 2-3 days worth of activities. Especially not in the heat.
