Location: The hotel is on Cherokee Lane less than a mile from downtown Lodi and just down the street from the Grape Festival Grounds and near the train station as well as the Quality Inn Lodi. The area around it isn't the best, but no where near the worst areas around here. There are numerous fast food restaurants within a mile as well as better places downtown.
Hotel: The hotel itself is an older style design with exposed walkways and a small lobby with small breakfast room. There's a second building across the parking lot from the main building which itself is next to the again small pool. The parking lot is, wait for it, also small and at night is hard to find spots in. For whatever reason, there's a colorful theme at this hotel with multi-colored lights and colored glass on the walkways.
Check-In: Handled quickly by an agent who sneezed and informed me "I'm sick". I asked for an upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi and was told they didn't have any. I was not given my Diamond bottled water/250 points (though when I contacted BW later they posted them).
Room: The room was my requested King with a large bed, chair and table, newer style TV and separate bathroom vanity (always a plus). Everything worked well and the bathroom had a window in it which is a rare treat for me. The bed was comfortable and my only complaint was the walls are very thin and the hotel had a lot of foot traffic and my girlfriend was disturbed by all the noise (I sleep better it would seem).
Other: There's a full hot breakfast for free here which consisted of mediocre quality pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and coffee and juice. I was happy they had the local paper on the weekend. Check out went smoothly and there was a computer in the lobby.
My Rate was $65 a day with the AAA rate and I would probably stay here again. It's not as good as the Lodi Hampton Inn but better than the Lodi Quality Inn.
