Mid-Atlantic - Philadelphia airport - is there security between flights (Mexico>Philadelphia>Canada)

I will be flying from Mexico to Toronto via Philadelphia. I'll be arriving into Philadelphia terminal A and then going to terminal C and flying from there into Canada. Question - I have hard time understanding if I'll have to go through security between these flights. In some other threads I read that I'll have to pick up my checked in luggage, go through customs, then through security (and get pat down), then drop my luggage and go to different terminal. But I called airport twice and they assured me that there will be no security between terminals. Anyone knows what should I expect?
And just to confirm - when flying from Toronto to Mexico, I believe that I'll go through security in Toronto (with not as intrusive pat down), then there will be no security pat downs in Philadelphia. I believe I confirmed that with multiple sources, but if anyone things otherwise, please let me know.
Thank you in advance for your replies!

When you land at PHL from Mexico, you will go through normal passport control and customs. This means you will have to collect and recheck your luggage. Upon leaving customs you will be outside the secure area and will have to go through security again to reenter the terminal.
When you called the airport, in a sense they gave you the correct information in that there is no security between terminals - you can freely walk from Terminal A to Terminal E without going through security, but in your situation you will have to get back into the terminal first.
As far as pat downs, at the moment, only terminal F (the commuter terminal) at PHL has the new body scan devices so you should be fine.
When leaving Canada, you will clear US passport control and customs prior to leaving, so at PHL there should be no additional security to go though; just proceed to your connecting flight.
You can also read this thread for everything you could possibly want to know about PHL: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/us-airways-dividend-miles/958317-us-guide-phl-philadelphia-airport.html
If I stated anything wrong in this, I'm sure someone will correct me. :)
