Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Miles Upgrade on TAM

Hi,

I would like to know if there is any way of upgrading a TAM ticket between GRU and LHR using my M&M miles. I am SEN however the concerned passenger (my grandma) has no status.

As you probably have already discovered TAM upgrades on M&M are not included in the online process, nor are they shown in the *A upgrade charts. TAM customer service just told me that upgrades with M&M miles are theoretically possible, but the arrangement must be made through M&M rather than TAM directly. TAM international awards and upgrades, especially LHR-Brazil have been somewhat scarce, so one hopes she will be traveling at an off time.

Hmm at the moment TAM does NOT part take in the upgrade for miles prog. It is planned but until they sort out the screw up in thier own system (which happened shortly after they joined *A) that is apparently not possible. If you do however have any luck do let us know

After calling M&M they said they are unable to do this. However, one person mentioned something about an authorisation code from TAM that would allow M&M to do an upgrade on their flight.

Additionally, on of the flights (LIS-GRU) is operated by TAP. The people from TAP told me that they could process an upgrade if the flight number shown was theirs, not the TAM one. Does anyone know if it is possible to change the flight number on a code share reservation to the one of the operating carrier?
