Anyone else love their sandwiches?
I wish they had Potbelly's at ORD. I know there's not one too far away but that's no good when pressed for time.
It does give me something to look forward to when I fly through MDW though.

Yeah, they won't even expand to Oregon, home to approximately two hundred million Californian transplants, so I don't think they'll ever go to the Midwest. Anyway, I don't even think they do airport locations back in California.

The sandwich shop in the C concourse has the same toasted sandwiches.
Yeah, they won't even expand to Oregon, home to approximately two hundred million Californian transplants...Call the Census Bureau!
They're reporting the population of Oregon as 4 million - I guess they need to bump up their numbers by a couple orders of magnitude. @:-)

FYI - If your travels don't entail spending time in Chicago or a connection through MDW, there is a Potbelly's at DCA - past security, near gate 27. There's also several scattered throughout the DC area.

IAD has one too.

They're more warmed than toasted, and so good!
Thanks for the info on IAD and DCA, I'll keep that in mind next time I'm in the area.

Although In-N-Out doesn't do airport locations, they have quite a few off-airport ones. Several that have been discussed in FT include outside of SFO, LAX, ONT, and LAS.

Potbelly often runs a promo at year-end where with purchase of a $25 gift card, you get a free sandwich (worth ~$5).
I'm working my way through several from last year.

Potbellys is a good sandwich when compared to the Subway crap of the world, but Potbellys is junk compared to a real deli (of which sadly there are not many left).

Try the Italian deli, Panozzo's, on Michigan just a few doors south of 13th. I love it.
As for a good Jewish deli in Chicago...I like 11 City Diner and Manny's...though Manny's is less a deli and more an old fashioned cafeteria (get a chocolate Coke!).

Given the suburban Chicago choices Potbelly's is great.
I do I do! I used to love the one in Ann Arbor when my brother went to University of Michigan. I also wish there was one at ORD. I mean if BWI can have one...ORD should!

Actually they expanded to the Dallas area this year.

+1 on 11 City Diner.
I need to check out Manny's sometime. I've heard good things.

Just went yesterday. Portions are still huge. One order is plenty for two people to share. My bf (not a Jew) tried getting a corned beef sandwich on white, and the guy wouldn't let him. Heh.

Getting back on topic, there's a Potbelly's on my block, and another down the street from the office. Ironically, I'm rarely at either place so I've eaten there maybe 3-4 times this year. If I am in town, my first choice is Portillo's.

I work close to Steve's Deli in the River North / Merchandise Mart neighborhood and have lunch there once or twice a week. I think it's a pretty good "Jewish style" deli.
Potbelly's in the city are like gas stations - seemingly one on every corner. I long for the days when it was an independent "mom and pop" type operation because the sandwiches were better. Until I had a heart "issue" I'd get a breakfast sandwich at the Potbelly in the Merchandise Mart. They're pretty good in the a.m. (eggs, veggies, etc.). Now that I'm on a different diet I avoid whole eggs and Potbelly doesn't have egg white sandwiches - which Subway does, and where I get one maybe once every other week. Potbelly is a comfortable place to eat and the prices are right - here in Chicago.

I flew through MDW this week. Potbelly's has the "buy a $25 gift card and get a free sandwich" deal again.
Regular sandwich only, and the coupon expires Jan. 31.
Buy the gift card before you get in the sandwich line, then use the coupon at checkout.

I read a service animal thread earlier today and when I saw this title I thought it was going to be about potbelly pigs as service animals. (There's a thread on that somewhere here on FT.)
I'll have to put Potbelly's on my list of places to eat when I visit Chicago as a tourist. A deep dish pizza place is also on the list.

I'll have to put Potbelly's on my list of places to eat when I visit Chicago as a tourist.oh please don't, there are so many other food items in Chicago you should have BEFORE having a Potbelly’s sandwich.
