Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - First time flyer with TK between Baku-IST-BKK

I will start properly flying with TK from beginning next year between Baku – Istanbul – Bangkok.
I will have full fare Business Class tickets with about 3 hrs transfer in Istanbul and the flights will be on a Tuesday to BKK.
I never flown with TK and never been at Istanbul airport before.
So all advise and experiences are welcome about what to expect and what to do.
Normally I fly with emirates Business Class.
Can I compare TK with Emirates regarding service, on time flying, comfort and lounges?
Which aircrafts are they using between IST and BKK ? ( I believe that they get new planes without F Class )

There are many variables to your question. EK has not retrofitted all aircraft and TK switches its birds regularly. IMHO, when talking hard product, the EK A380 J is better than what TK has to offer. The older EK 773s on the other hand are inferior. Usually, TK crew onboard are sincere but clumsy, i.e. poor language skills and lack of attention to detail. On the ground, EK beats TK. Lounges are usually crowded but EK has more to offer. Overall, I would say EK is better. (ICE is really great)
