US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - USAirways.com running slow lately?

Has anyone else been noticing USAirways.com running slow? It seems that if I'm doing some "Flexible" choices that it takes on the order of a minute to even pull up the fare choices. Even slower when choosing flights.

Other sections of USAir's web site run fast. Makes it hard to do some checking for some mileage runs...er, I mean business flights http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Have a great 4th!

Oh, yeah, wicked slow. Over the last month I've noticed:

- lots of bogus "we found a lower fare" links, which after you follow them (a couple pages) you end up with a higher fare

- early morning (east coast) when the system seems to be down completely

- slow, slower, and slowest response times ever

On the positive side I think Travelocity (they power this) is finally doing a litle cleanup with their web page session setups. Used to be you couldn't start a new itinerary until you completely cancelled out the old one.

I think it must be kind of schizoid making a reservation system on the web. On one hand they are trying to make an easy to use system for users. While on the other hand they need to protect themselves (or their client) so that every script jockey out there doesn't build a reservation mining system that depletes resources in trying to "automatically" find the lowest fares in the system.

So slow that it's almost unusable. The service center told me "everything is running normally."

I got the same reply this morning...the website is pretty much unusable! I'm trying to grab a run from PIT to SFO the end of July and believe it or not it gave me choices for MHT to ALB!

It looks like the Wolfman is trying to disintegrate USAir! When I looked on Sidestep it doesn't even show USAir, even though USAir has the least expensive flights to SFO right now!

C'mon USAir...you can do better than this http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Today when I was trying to find a routing, it kept saying that it couldn't find the server.

Maybe it is a ploy to keep us from getting on-line booking bonuses.

It's HORRIBLE!

On Sunday it took a half-dozen attempts and almost 4 hours to book a simple trip. The pages would take 3-5 minutes to load, and by time i got the "buy or hold" screen, it would tell me the fare was no longer available, but I'd start over and it would still be there. Finally got the darn thing booked about 1am EDT.

Ona semi-related note, has anyone gotten US to fax you an itinerary lately? I know I've done it before, but twice on Monday I was told "we don't do that" "our system doesn't allow it". Since you don't send you a paper receipt for e-tickets, what are you supposed to submit if you need to get re-imbersed? I'd hope not that mis-formatted email they send out!

It is slow. I managed to book a flight yesterday but gave up today. This from a work station at our national computer center. Will try at home but maybe that will take days for a response. For itineraries, I print out the reservation I pull up from the web site.

Mark,
Regarding an itin. or receipt for travel booked on an e-ticket, I usually ask either at the gate beforehand or after the flight. Failing that, hit the special services or your preferred Preferred counter post-flight. My current and past employers wanted the receipt (or faxed copies thereof) on real ticket stock, not a cheezball printed e-mail from the website.
