With no more parameters, I'll start the bidding with Union Bar & Grill, in the South End. tkey75 Nov 20, 10, 12:35 pm Can you provide any more parameters than that? Location? Cuisine? Price? With no more parameters, I'll start the bidding with Union Bar & Grill, in the South End. I'll see your Union Bar and Grill and raise you Chart House and a walk by the water. LoganFlyer Nov 21, 10, 4:02 pm I'll add the Ethiopian restaurant Addis Red Sea in the South End to the list. Blumie Nov 23, 10, 11:57 am how about most places in the north end? There are some really good places in the North End. However, most suck, so one needs to pick carefully. magiciansampras Nov 23, 10, 11:59 am B&G Oyster farebravo Nov 23, 10, 8:53 pm Tough to be specific without more details, but some favorites that I enjoyed taking my gf to (on our early dates): - Stella: in the south end and very good italian food with a fun, young, but classy (not snotty) crowd. I would do dinner here and then walk down a few blocks to Beehive for drinks/live music - B&Q (which i saw above) is good but a bit noisy with small tables. though still a very fun place - Taranta is one of the better north end joints if you want italian with a little twist and proximity to the cozy streets of the north end (and a cannoli at Mike's Pastry when you are done -- its a little hokey but a lot of fun) - Tapeo on newbury is a really fun place for tapas and sangria. high quality food in a fun, very colorful place. i have had good dates here. happy to hone in a little bit if you provide more specs Blumie Nov 24, 10, 7:45 am - B&Q (which i saw above) is good but a bit noisy with small tables. though still a very fun placeYou mean B&G, not B&Q. BTW, why do I feel like the OP is long gone? Yahtzee Nov 24, 10, 9:15 am BTW, why do I feel like the OP is long gone? Well, he is a frqnt flyr. JY1024 Nov 26, 10, 10:11 am I'll throw one more into the mix: Craigie on Main (http://www.craigieonmain.com/) farebravo Nov 27, 10, 6:34 am I'll throw one more into the mix: Craigie on Main (http://www.craigieonmain.com/) Wonderful spot, though it is in Cambridge, not Boston. So would need to consider what the other plans for the evening are. Blumie Nov 27, 10, 12:25 pm Wonderful spot, though it is in Cambridge, not Boston. So would need to consider what the other plans for the evening are.The "need to consider what the other plans for the evening are" is true for all of these recommendations. Craigie -- which is, after all, all of five minutes from parts of Boston -- may be more convenient for the OP than many options in Boston proper. |
