I'm a Silver, and this past weekend I needed to purchase 3 certs to travel from bwi-sfo. I bought them at the Customer Service Desk. After the things I've read on this board, I mentioned the "buy 3 get the fourth free" or 4 for $120 as is often quoted on the board. The clerk wasn't buying it, she said they used to do that, but she didn't think they did it anymore. I can't find any literature on the usairways website. Does anyone have this info in writing? Thanks.

I purchased some two months ago. I didn't need to ask, the Tampa club agent knew "Buy 3, one free." I'd call customer service and ask.

As a Silver Preferred, I bought 4 for $120 a couple of months ago. The whole transaction took a while, since the certs had to be hand written across two ticket booklets...but there was no question about the price. In fact, they never even verified that I was actually Silver, since I hadn't gotten my card yet and they didn't ask for it. There were no other US Airways customers either in line or in sight, so I guess that probably helped.

I've been able to obtain "buy 3, get 1 free" from airport ticket counters, US Airways Clubs, and city ticket offices with no problems. The Clubs even have the information on how to process the sale, plus that it's 3-get 1 for DM members in their manuals. Sounds like the agent is a bit off. Next time, you might want to get either another agent, or use one of the other options.

It is in the Silver handbook I received. I'm sure it is in the Gold book also. A CP probably doesn't need to purchase any so it may not be in their book.
I thought it was on the web site but I couldn't find it.
