US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Questions about 23-hour "connection"

I recently booked my June flights to SFO ex-FRA, and decided to take advantage of the 24+-hour definition of a stopover to schedule an overnight connection at BWI and meet up with an old friend. I managed to get all segments upgraded with my SWUs. The base fare was $412 r/t and does not allow stopovers.

I arrive at PIT at 3:00 pm, and am scheduled to take the flight for BWI that leaves at 6:05 pm. There is a more convenient one earlier, but it arrives about 9 minutes before the flight I want to take to SFO leaves, so it would make the stop more than 24 hours http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif.

Will they let me stand by for the earlier flight even if it would make my stay at BWI longer than 24 hours? If all that's available for standbys is coach, would I be missing anything by taking that instead of FC on the later flight?

Also, will I be able to use my Envoy Class passes to get into the clubs at BWI and/or SFO when completing the one-way the next day, or will they stick to the text on the website that says that EC passengers get access to the clubs on the day of travel?

Will my checked luggage arrive on the same flight or will it be sent ahead meaning I should go straight to the luggage office to pick it up at SFO?

As always, I'm glad for any and all help.

P.S. - for all my flights (on 757, MD80 and A330) I have seats in row 3, but I was wondering if being in the rear EC cabin on the A330 might make for a cozier atmosphere and more ease in falling asleep on the eastbound? Anyone think I should change on any of the other flights as well? Would be interested in any input.

My personal preference on the A330 is row 3. The rear Envoy cabin seems to get a lot of traffic noise from the back cabin. JMHO.

I would really watch that 24 hour connection. Even though they have permitted you to board the earlier flight, this breaks the connection rule, and they might charge you $$$ for staying too long. I happened to want to do that once on NWA, but did not dare because I did not want to face the situation of not being able to get on the connecting flight if I do not pay the penalty for breaking the 24 hour rule.
