US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Fare Question

I'll likely be traveling from BUF-PIT-LON-PIT-BUF next month and had a few questions since I do not fly US often. I'll be travelling on a K fare, and was wondering whether or not this fare would qualify for the 20,000 one-way one-class upgrade.

As a basic DM member would I be able to use a friend's upgrade cert. since this is a published fare.

Using friend's certificates: By USAirways rules those certificates are not transferable. You could only use them if your friend was travelling with you. USAirways is fairly strict on enforcing these rules but you could always try.

You can not upgrade K fares with miles to Europe. According to http://www.usairways.com/dividendmiles/redeemingmiles/howtoredeem/upgrades.htm its 10k for J and Y fares and 20k for B and C fares (one way). No way to upgrade K fares.
