Was checking the schedules this morning. Wow. Whadyaknow. US, with their acquisition of more long range jets seems to be introducing NS service from BWI to SEA. I don't know if this was ever served when BWI was a real US hub. I'm sure that it will do quite well.
Looks like it is part of an increase in frequency in SEA. SEA-PIT and SEA-PHL are going up from 3 to 4 per day and SEA-CLT up from 2 to 3 per day. But SEA-BWI is on the August schedule, but not on the October schedule. Maybe it's seasonal?
Anyone know more about these changes?

More 319/320/321 aircraft. Somewhat smaller planes, with greater frequency

I am scheduled late July on the 7:00 a.m. non-stop BWI-SEA flight. It is currently scheduled for a A-321. However, when I upgraded I decided to get a seat in one of the first three rows just in case there is a last minute equipment change to a 319 or 320. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

If the Northwest can support more traffic, all we need now is CLT-PDX or PIT-PDX. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
BTW, got reaccomodated from a ComAir/DL flight on US last week from MYR-SEA then on UAExpress to PDX. Quite a nice experience, the UAEx was a prop, but has a single side (A / C-D seating), which left on time, and arrived early, with a very pleasant gate staff and crew. The transfer's a bit long, literally from one end of the airport to another, but at least it's a nice airport.

There is supposed to be a trasfer train from N to S terminals but I have never seen it working at any time of day. So this basically means you have to take the South tram to the main terminal, go up the escalator, walk north towards the DL, AA and UA ticket counters, go down the escalator, go back through security, and hop on the tram to the N Terminal.
One might as well simply walk to Portland!
A 767 pilot I sat next to last night had to make the same trek from the South terminal to the North Terminal to catch a UX flight to PDX. I wished him well on his trek...

Flyertalk Rule #502:

In fact, the tram was indeed working, so I never had to leave security. I was also probably in a imperviously happy mood just to have NOT been flying DL/ASA that day. The most I recall of SEA are the 'end' terminals, which have food & drink stands right next to the gate compared to most places and centrally located. But I'd agree, the overall layout of the airport could use a little tweaking.

Seattle ... use a litle 'tweaking'??
Use a little DYNAMITE more likely!
From kebside cab to UA check-in and then to the gate can take an eternity. Escalators, long overroad walkway, etc, and that TRAIN, yikes.

He lives in YVR but flies out of SEA from time to time.

Writing from near LHR:
Yep, I'd love US service to come to YVR and preferably without US being a part of UA!

Das,
Yes, this service BWI-SEA is seasonal. End date should be 9/30 but is subject to change.
