US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - LGA-MCO Metrojet Advice

I am researching options for my brother and his family to go to Orlando from NY. I see these great fares via US Air and realized they are actually on Metrojet.
Does Metrojet feel cut rate?
Is it operated like some of the other no frills operations?
Would Jet Blue's new aircraft be a better trip? I have heard great things about them.
Or can my brother expect the same type of service that you get from US Air?
Any info would be helpful.

You might want to do a search on Metrojet in this forum. I think you'll find the overwhelming opinion is that Metrojet does feel very cut rate.
Although I haven't flown Jet Blue, from everything I've read, it would most definitely be a better trip than Metrojet.

Thanks Harold, I had already done a search in this forum but was hoping for some more info. Your statement alone leads me to believe I had the right feeling about MetroJet.
Anyone else feel the same way?

Actually, I kinda wish I had a reason to fly JetBlue and see what all the hype is about. They and Midwest seem to be the darlings of the industry (but it could be just a passing fad).
One of the things they have going for them are brand spanking new A320s.

Yes, Metrojet does feel like a cut rate carrier. Every flight I've been on has been packed to the gills. It's only saving grace over Southwest is the assigned seating. DM status means nothing on Metrojet, the in-flight service is extremely variable and gate agents are not always the most friendly. However, for the extremely low fares I've gotten with them I try not to complain too much http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
No Frills means just what the phrase implies. Expect a bus ride.

Hi:
I would take JET BLUE. The aircraft are beautiful, and in my opinion, they are working hard to win business through good customer service.
I am a US Gold, on my way to Chairman's, and love US Airways. Metrojet is a monumental waste with lousy customer service, and a true "cattle herd" mentality. They tried to follow the Southwest model and failed. They can't turn a plane swiftly, and some of their flights have the worst on-time performance of any flights in the US Airways system. We at BWI gave up 80% of our nonstop mainline US service for Metrojet.
Moreover, the 737-200's they fly are old. The seats are not comfortable. And many times, there are gate agents and flight attendants that just go through the motions.
I don't live in New YOrk, so I can't comment on the virtues of departing JFK versus LGA.
Keep in mind....these comments are from a longtime USAIR/US AIRWAYS customer who loves that airline. But Metrojet? No thanks.
