Air New Zealand Air Points - Cheap Upgrades to Premiere Economy

Does anyone know if NZ is still offering cheap upgrades to premiere economy at YVR (to AKL)? They were a year ago but that might have been some kind of short-term promotion. On that same trip on my way back I asked about it at AKL and they told me there was no such thing as a reduced fare for upgrades! Ha :rolleyes:

I've been offered cash upgrades to PE several times on flights from SFO and LAX in the past few months. Never ex AKL though.

So quite possibly you will be offered the same, particularly if PE is lightly loaded.

Cam, I have never heard of them offering this, however I have found some good PE fares on www.vayama.com
In the past I have asked upgrades out of LAX and AKL. They have always been available, at full fare! No thanks.

Another thing to remember, is that NZ releases award seats closer to departure. I'm flying BP on NZ in a week or so with tx that were booked last week. Check KVS often and you will find seats within three to four weeks of departure.

Just for your info, last year I paid C$185 to upgrade to PE from Y which I thought was a fair deal. Having said that, I would not have paid a whole lot more. Now if they had deals on upgrading to J, I would pay a lot more! :cool:

Sounds like a heckuva deal to me. Was this offered at ckin, have to ask, announced over PA?
