US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Miles disappear overnight

Yesterday (1/25/01) I had 6000 Amex Bonus Miles in my account and today (1/26/01) they are gone. I think they were from promotion #2247. Did anyone else have this happen-- I sent email to USAirways for explanation.

After seeing your post, I checked my account again and the same thing occurred. Yesterday I noticed two separate postings for the AMEX bonus for around 3500 miles total. Today they are gone. Let me know what you find out from US. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Thrilled to finally be able to answer someone else's question! The data is on a tape that is pulled to update accounts (for those receiving hard copies of statements.) When your tape has been pulled, you don't see the miles - they miraculously reappear about one day later when the tapes are back. If you call customer service in the interim - the correct information still appears on their terminals. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Well 1500 miles have re-appeared but still missing 4500 that were there-- No reply yet from USAirways on where the others disappeard

A little more than half of the AMEX bonus miles have reappeared. No telling what has become of the rest.
