US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - USAirways.com won't let me book BOS-FRA

So, I punch in BOS-FRA with flexible dates into USAirways.com. The fare list comes up with a fare of $247. "Outstanding," I think to myself. I select the fare from the list. Then, the little calendars show up with available departure dates. And, every time I pick one, I get the following message:

usairways.com is unable to display service between Frankfurt, Germany and Boston, MA. Please contact the customer service center at 800-245-4882 for assistance.

How irritating is that? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif It's not even like Boston is this little town that there's only one flight a day or something. There are plenty of options connecting via PIT and PHL. What's the deal here??

Yeah...I know...call the customer service number or reservations directly...but who wants to do that?

Yeah, I have no idea what the deal is. I get the same exact error message when I try DEN to any city in Europe that is served by US. There should be lots of possibilties for flights via PIT, PHL, and CLT, which I can plainly confirm by using the web site's Timetable function. Clearly there is some bug in the system for reserving certain flights to Europe. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

davohuang,

I *seem* to be able to get the fare by using "Multiple Destinations" and manually entering my connections, but it's a pain having to do that each time. And, if you're not sure which days fares are valid for flying on, then you're still having to call someone. And that someone is often USAirways.com, because US Reservations doesn't necessarily have the web fares. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

ThisFlightNoFuel,

Well, thanks for the tip. I agree that manually having to enter connections is a major pain, and I would also rather book my flights on the web without having to speak to a person. Hopefully it's something they know about, but I'll probably shoot them an email to make sure.

Old problem usairways.com does not show you flights to europe or does not let you buy them. Very often they show you connections with domestic US and then competitors for transatlantic like LH,BA or AA to name a few even when there own flights are empty. I told them at leat three times but nobody seems to care would be great to know how much lost revenue over the years. Great to know that nobody seems to be responsible.
Only little bit of explanation when there is more than two hours for a connection the system seems to look for alternatives by all means meaning ignoring the US preference and showing everybody and there Mama instead.
I guess US is the only airline in the whole wide world which does not care about selling there own flights first.Only way around as indicated is by going through the multiple destination screne and book home city to gateway and then gateway to european destinatin step by step.

Looks like it hasn't changed in nearly a year as I had posted a similar complaint back in March/April last year.

On the other hand, the multiple destinations option can put together a grand tour of the US hubs on the way out and back for PFCs only if you so choose! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
