Hi all... long time lurker, first time poster and all that jazz.. :-)
I was hoping that someone could answer a question I have concerning SWU confirmation:
On 04.06.2001 I have booked:
DCA->PHL->MAN->EDI

I booked it online, then called the reservation # and told them I would like to upgrade there and back using 2 SWUs. The guy said fine, and assigned me seats in First and Envoy. Cool...BUT their online system claims that my tickets are in coach, as booked... even the confirmation of ticket shipping. However, when I call the reservation 800 number, it says that I am booked in First and Envoy.

My question, finally, is this:
Is my upgrade confirmed? Will I actually get it at this point, or is there a chance that I will be denied for some reason?

I searched through the archives and found no answers... and their policy on the website is unclear to me. If anyone could clue me in I'd appreciate it.

You're fine - the online system doesn't update what seats you're in. I've done this for 2 trips to FRA. The first time, I got the upgrades confirmed and seats assigned before the tickets were issued and the ticket still showed the original seats as booked. Second time, I purchased the ticket online and upgraded < 1 minute later (agent was on the phone as I bought the tix).

How did you get First over and Envoy back using SWU's to upgrade two coach segments?

PHL,

I am guessing that misterklaw is booked in First on the domestic segments and Envoy on the trans-Atlantic segments.

Oops... sorry that was unclear. First DCA->PHL and Envoy PHL->MAN. So just the usual one class upgrade.

That's what I supposed, but then I thought the DCA-PHL flights were still the commuters.

On the other hand, you could have been lucky like a friend of mine who upgraded from coach to Envoy at the counter with an SWU. The agent was a trainee and gave him a seat in row 1!!! He didn't actually realize it until he was walking away looking at the row number on the boarding pass. Of course, he was spoiled from that point on and couldn't bare having to fly Envoy on the return segment.
