I have been a chairmans member for 3 years and I have only been on UA once (to japan). I was not impressed even with their first class service, it didn't compare with US 1st transatlantic service. Besides I have heard horror storys from others about UA and I looked at the 1K at UAL web site and it doesn't look very good compared to US. Does anyone know if other airlines will automatically put you in their elite FF level? and if so which one might be best and how do you do it.
thanks-this is my first time at this web site!
Ehh -- hang tight. I think the UA-US deal will be better than you think, if you ignore UA's East Coast regional carrier, Atlantic Coast Airlines http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
Most all airlines will comp you to the 50k level for one year, based upon your Chairman's status with US. I know of none that will comp you to 100k level.

CO has comped UA 1Ks to their highest level, perhaps they will comp CPs to Platinum?

Yes, they will. And the automated upgrades are nice. No muss, no fuss.
It may just be relief at (finally) seeing a different menu but I think the food is a little better too.
