I have been gold medallion with Delta for 4 years.

In 1999, USAir comped me into Chairman's Preferred when I faxed them copies of my Delta FF account statement showing my gold status.

Since then I have flown on USAir only twice. Does anyone know if USAir does such comping again with little flight activity?
I understand that UA will comp year after year based on equivalent status with another airline.

Gold Medallion is Delta's mid tier, while Chairman's Preferred is USAirways top tier. Are you sure you actually got USAirways to bump you UP a level??

I've heard other airlines do track and don't allow double comps. Never heard one way or the other on USAirways.

US Airways will comp equal status for silver and gold. They will also upgrade status of current members (DM to SP, and SP to GP)--either with a demonstrable increase in flying or by way of challenge. Call the DM Service Center and they will instruct you on how to write, where to fax, and to whom.

US Airways FORMERLY comped Chairman's to upper levels of other airlines, but that stopped in 1999. They also used to issue challenges that included CP along with SP and GP. Not any more.

As far as "will they comp again with no flight activity"---Most likely, no. They will offer challenges again, but all their comps and challenges state that, to continue the level in the following year, you must fly to the level.
