California - San Diego Specials

Hey all, I'm planning a girls' trip to San Diego in the next couple months and I'm trying to get good deals on a hotel. Preferably the Gaslamp district, near all the good restaurants! Please let me know if you have any good deals or recommendations to pass along! :p

Since your preferred location (as it would be mine) is the Gaslamp District, the first stop I'd make is at the San Diego Convention Center website's Calendar:

Availability (and prices), especially in the Gaslamp (since it so close to the Convention Center), can be adversely affected when medium-size to large shows and meetings are in town.

I don't know the resort that has been suggested above, but it should be noted that it is located in the Mission Bay area, several miles north of the Gaslamp/Downtown area.

If you're interested in night-life, restaurants, places you can walk to---don't stay at Paradise Point. You can't walk to anything from there. Maybe the Hilton Gaslamp? There are even two Marriott Courtyards that may be of interest--especially if you're on award nights or limited budget---one in Old Town and another -- a converted bank building -- across from Horton Plaza.
