TalkBoard Topics - New Forum Idea: A marketplace forum

I understand FT is more about points/miles aspect of flying, but I think it would be cool to have a sub forum dedicated to trading models/memorabillia/etc. It would be obviously have to be patrolled so that people arent trading there valid tickets/miles to other people.

I think that's an interesting idea & I know a lot of folks on here collect travel memorabillia (I've got some pretty cool Lucien Boucher AF original posters from 50+ years ago and a few BA Concord models from when I was a kid & flew BA with my parents a lot).

I don't know if there's a "market" for that on FT & think that eBay's a better place to sell. Once you become eligible for the Coupon Connection, it may be worth asking the Coupon Connection moderators if that's acceptable to trade in there (I doubt it, but it's worth an ask) - or maybe see if anyone's interested in TravelBuzz (again, check wth the mods first).

I think it's a cool idea, but don't know how much real traffic it would receive. But, I'm the first to post on this thread, so there may be some support.

That said, I doubt I'd trade away anything I've got! ;)

This was my first thought, too. I actually like this idea and think it would be very much in the spirit of Coupon Connection. If you find that CC is not the place to do this once you gain access, update us here and I'll take another look at the issue. :)

Alternatively, you can plan and host the Airline Paraphernalia Do! Invite a bunch of FTers to visit for a weekend and bring all their airline goodies for a trading session. Might actually be pretty well attended! :D
