Looks like they won't let Delta steal their thunder.. I believe they are matching Delta's offer. In any case, great news for me -- especially when combined with the new why drive when you can fly fares.

Register (bonus 2269) and afterwards you get 10,000 miles after completing three roundtrips before the end of the year. These bonus miles are on top of anything else.

With this and the European 10k bonus it's raining miles!

This should fit well with my upcoming travel through the end of the year. (3 Steelers trips to PIT, plus others).

I wonder if we can get this bonuse more than once? I have 5 trips planned by the end of the year, but for an extra 10,000 miles.....

The shadow of doubt surrounding a late year mileage run to Europe has just turned into sunshine.

euro run: 8000 (flown) + 8000 (GP bonus)+ 10,000 (booking)

add 2 Shuttle r/t's: 2000 + 2000 + 2000

add the 10,000 "3 time" booking bonus

total: 42,000 miles for $660 !!!

I wonder if this would apply to trips to be flown by December 31 but purchased prior to yesterday?

Update: Just booked r/t DCA-LGW for $355 including taxes!

Easy mileage run. Particularly with a Systemwide. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

NOVACAT, the offer does NOT apply to previously booked flights per the terms and conditions on the US Air website. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif You must be registered for the promo before booking for you to get the credit.

Very good point. Even if you are not sure you will be able to take advantage of the bonus, go ahead and sign up. You never know...

I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Chairman's Preferred working out the details.. which are:

You must be registered for the promotion prior to booking your tickets (this includes placing tickets on hold). So for example I placed tickets on hold yesterday, a couple of hours before I registered for the promotion. After the agent made a few phone calls she verified I was registered for the promotion. Then I had to cancel my reservation and make a whole new one.

I highly doubt you'll get this bonus multiple times. I just booked myself PIT-ORD for $130 R/T.. I'm 1/3 of the way to 20,000 miles (my wife flies with me). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I'm still wrestling if I want to type up nearly a thousand dollars for an international flight for early next year to get that 10k bonus miles.. maybe.. maybe not.. got 9 more days to decide http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

As others have mentioned, the DM folks are saying that for flights to be eligible; they must be booked after registering for this promo. k

I asked them about the possibility of multiple bonuses (for booking 6 or 9 RT's). The person I talked to didn't think so, but was unsure. They are supposed to call me back with an answer over the next day or so. I will post the results when I hear from them.

This is a nice promo and might be worth a short mileage run to meet the requirements.

I registered by phone. The "voice" at the end of the simple process said my account would be updated "within the next 4 hours".

Don't do the online registration. That's slow.. The agent told me that all bonuses are registered on your account with an 'active date' ... if you register via phone the active date is the date you call in, even though it takes up to another day for it to show on your account.

So register via phone if you need the bonus to be 'active' immediately...

I got a call back from the DM folks today. You can get multiple bonuses. Thus:

3 RT = 10,000 miles
6 RT = 20,000 miles
9 RT = 30,000 miles

Interesting.. It makes mileage runs even more worthwhile at about 4333 bonus miles per trip (1000 + 3333) to start. So a quickie matched from Southwest $58 R/T ($74 or so with taxes probably) becomes 6333 miles.

Heck, maybe I'll keep going even after I re-qualify at this rate. Maybe last year of Dividend Miles http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

There is a $60 ($71 w/tax) fare BWI-BUF with no stayover required - yes it's a Southwest match. My math shows 3 trips cost $213 and yields:

19,000 for Gold
17,500 for Silver
16,000 for No status
plus 4,000 if 1st online booking.

If you could get it price the same with a connection at LGA, would they add the double miles from the Double Miles to and from New York promo?

Hello!

I would be really thankful if someone could clarify some details of this promotion to me.

Does this offer apply to round-trips only or do circle trips count as well? I wrote an EM to the customer service last week, but no response so far.

Also - if I book a RT for a friend using my account - does this count (probably the answer here is "no", but I would be happy to be wrong).

Thanks!

Dunno about circle trips but know for sure if you book trips for someone else THEY get the credit towards any bonus.. not you. I book trips all the time for my wife and she gets the credit http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The answer is, unfortunately, no. It's also "no" for family members (if, say, you booked four tickets on a trip).

The trips are per FF number, so each trip must be flown by the same passenger/same FF number.
