US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Can systemwides be used after status expires?

My mother is Silver Preferred this year and received 2 systemwide upgrades that expire on 6/30/2001. She may not re-qualify, so her status could expire on 2/28. Does this affect her ability to use the upgrades? Would she be put a the bottom of an upgrade list? From reading the terms and conditions, it appears that these upgrades are confirmable and not limited in use by non-status memebers (except that they are not transferable and only elites receive them).

I don't have an answer for this question but I do have another Silver related question for one of the more senior US perferred flyers.
I have recently moved up to silver and have received by mistake TWO Silver Welcome Packages. Will I be able to use both sets of upgrades (I've already the two system wide ones from one package)or does US keep track of whether a particular passenger has used his or hers already?
Thanks!
Barry

I don't have an answer for you either, but I wonder if the two packages were actually a mistake. If you qualified under the 6k "challenge" to be Silver earlier this year, you would receive a package for Silver through 02/01. Then, if you passed 25k status miles, you qualify for next year and MIGHT intentionally be sent a package good through 02/02. This is speculation on my part -- can anyone confirm?

I read my SWU usage rules and it would appear that it's o.k. to use them anytime. Maybe the trick is to buy the ticket and confirm the upgrade before her memebership expires.

Subject has been addressed before. I've actually received 3 prs of SWUs and keeping them towards requalification next year. As far as I know, there is no limit to them. They're just a coupon.

Interesting question. I looked at the back of some of my 799 mile segment upgrades and they have all sorts of terms and conditions. The SWUs have virtually none....
